FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
New, Independently Owned TV Channel Is Launching in Southern Utah and Northern Arizona
Brian Head, Utah ( January 1, 2019) — Independently owned television channels are a rarity – so it is big news that an independently owned TV channel is launching in southern Utah. The channel will be available in HD over the South Central Communications cable network. The launch date is set for 2/1/19. The channel will be designated as 8-4, call sign TourTV, and the electronic menu will show it as Brian Head Local Programming.
While the signal will originate in Brian Head’s Town Hall, the programming is intended to be of interest to southern Utah residents and visitors far beyond the mountain resort town. The signal will be available in much of southern Utah, and it will reach as far as Arizona. South Central Communications cable subscribers in the Page, Arizona area of Lake Powell will be able to view the programming. The area’s estimated 3 million annual visitors will also have the opportunity to check out the programming when they vacation at Lake Powell.
South Central Communications cable subscribers will have access to the channel without paying any additional fees. However, subscribers will need to rescan their television sets to pick up the new channel. Instructions for re-scanning vary; usually, it requires selecting “scan” or “auto-tune” from the TV or converter box control menu to start the process. Subscribers can usually find more complete re-scanning instructions by pressing the “set-up” or “menu” buttons on their remote control.
The TV channel is privately owned and independently held. The owners of the channel are pro small business and receptive to advertising local businesses, particularly those that would be of interest to both local viewers and visitors to the area. Advertising packages start at $528 per month.
